Who We Are

We are a food pantry providing supplemental food for those in need in Warren County, Iowa.   We are open to anyone in our county who meets our requirements.  Currently all monies received  are used to buy foods such as dairy,  meats,  fresh produce and other items not donated or purchased from the area food bank.   We have also been able to provide a limited amount of personal hygiene products.

Our History

This was a dream started by our director, Alice J. Cooper Brito , a few years ago.  She started alone by collecting  bottles and cans to raise  money to buy  food and  helped 5-10 families per month.
When her church was able to buy a building they gave her a small room to use.  After receiving more donations to help her buy  food,  she was then able to help about 20 families a month.
More donations came in, and people volunteered to help.  We currently  are serving approximately 85 families and 125 individuals per month.
        The need is still growing
.
At this point we are not even meeting 1% of those whose are food insecure.
